 Rantec's ability to complete designs and supply our customers with evaluation units in the shortest possible time is supported by the use of computer aided design and analysis tools.
- Customized slotted array and feed/reflector design software was developed within Rantec. This software is updated and enhanced as breakthroughs in theoretical analysis make more accurate simulation possible, allowing successful development of an antenna in weeks instead of months as would be required without this capability.
- A dedicated workstation with the Ansoft High Frequency Simulation Software (HFSS) eliminates many of the breadboards and test setups that were required in the past.
- Horn designs for reflector feeds are optimized using the CHAMP software package from TICRA Engineering Consultants.
- Mechanical design is accomplished with the Pro/ENGINEER CAD system. The antenna and all its component parts are created in a 3-dimensional solid model. Changes can be made at any point in the design process without making new inputs to previous views. Any changes made automatically updates all drawings and assemblies associated with the antenna model.
- Engineering drawings are not required for manufacturing; the Pro/ENGINEER CAM package provides for NC machining of the details directly from the solid model, leading to reduced development time and improved product quality.
- COSMOS/M software uses the Pro/ENGINEER models to determine dynamic performance and material stresses in the vibration environment.
